Murdoch Day-Redruth

Murdoch Day is on June 16th this year, and as usual a large crowd of people will enjoy the celebration of the life of William Murdoch, as Redruth plays host to various stalls, attractions and entertainment.
Cornwall is as famous for its engineering as its historic mining heritage. Murdoch is famed for building the first steam locomotive in 1784. Steam engines were also important for pumping water from the mines, to allow the extraction of tin & copper.
