Sapphire

Sapphire is the birthstone for September. Often thought of as a blue gemstone, it can come in various colours ranging from white, yellow, pink, green and orange through to the blues, ranging from pale blue to almost black.

Folklore suggests that ‘sapphire symbolizes the tranquility of the heavens, bestowing peace and amiability upon the wearer, and suppressing wicked and impure thoughts’.
